Love and Helplessness

No fight left, she weeps

From cliff, I grasp her fingers

Clinging barnacles

Grit my teeth lest she

Pull us both into abyss

Where sea sings her temptation

Passion binds, entwines

Vows, loyal obligation

Chosen noose ’round neck

This madness, flip side of lust

First love carved deep, e’er-lasting
